Feb Update

1st off, I got closed out of a race too which Im pissed about. For the 2nd yr in a row, I was closed out of the 'Wyckoff tri' which is a ridiculously fun yet a competitively ext sprint race. They have the coolest prizes too with "Division champ" embroidered on a backpack and a gym back I now won 2 yrs ago.

I esp had the registration date in my calendar 4 months prior and was gonna mail the ap the day it opened. But since its sponsored by the ymca, they have never had an online entry system. SOooo, what I found out which is mad shady is that, people WALKED in their aps!! If I woulda known I was aloud to do that since I live 40 mins away from the race, I would of gotten in. Because of this fact, I am even more pissed off I didn't get in this yr more than last. Last yr it was kinda my fault because I waited a few weeks after registration opened having no idea at the same time , the race grew that much in popularity like damn... really?

Oh well, so I signed up for the Lavaman sprint again which is a nice flat course which I felt great and raced really well in last yr, despite the freezing cold pouring rain. This race falls on fathers day on sunday June 20th. I also decided to try the much talked about 'flat as a pancake' race in Staten island which should be interesting..

I am figuring, the way I designed my race schedule this yr was to kick off w the track races working on my speed/pace. Then do a 4 miler so I can really use what I gained from my track races into the distance race at the end of feb. Once I get into march/April thats all Biathlon/Half marathon training.

Then I do the St. Croix half in early may which has an extremely hilly bike course. That being said, I figured I would def work more in the month of June on Intensity/speed work through my races rather volume and hills. I think after that half I'm gonna need a break. As for July/Aug that's when I boost the volume/distance, but I don't get hilly again till Santa barb if that's hilly....

In other news, trying to save up what I have and pay some bills back that I owe. I hope to death I can put the money together and slip away to ca for Easter wkd for my 24th bday. We'll see, so far saw affordable 300 buck flights round trip to Santa ana which is ten mins from my cousins. Is that to much to ask?! Its not like Im asking for a ride from LAX and having them drive in traffic. Although the last time I flew into Lax, I saw some celebrities :-) hehe My last 2 trips to cal I have flown into San Diego but its far away from Irrrvine.

I have been takin advantage in neg and pos ways due to the fact that I haven't been working since late dec. :O yea I coulda had a lot of money saved up, but at the same time I'm not gonna work at some dry cleaners no offense, but I will not go beneath myself like some people tried to belittle me um no.

I have a feeling that Cancun, my 2nd big trip of the yr in Sept will be more fun than st. croix bc there is so much more to do there. To be honest, I prob wouldn't go to st. croix out of all the pls if I wasn't racing there, its still kinda Islandized I've read so im gonna really prepare myself for nothing fancy when I go, also to save money.

My summers prob gonna be like summer 2007 when I went to Hawaii in June then back to Cal in Aug.
If Im lucky and train+ race hard, I will be in clearwater in NOV. As far as qual for the 2011 ITU champ, only money and time will tell....
