Triathlon Races 2011 Reasoning

Oceanside 70.3 April 2 2011
Why?
I have been wanting to do this race for the past 5 yrs, not even joking and couldnt bc of the combination of being in school, running track, and not having the money together...
It is CA a place that I yearn to be and live and I LOVE racing out there. This will be my 1st main race of the 2011 season, aside from a couple local biathlon races...

It will also be my first Half Ironman with my 1st Tri bike..

St. Croix 70.3
Why?
I had orginally signed up to do this race in 2010 this yr but I got lucky and w a sinsere letter, got a roll down to 2011. The start of 2009was tough, esp when you leave a job close to the last day of 2009... with out another job set out.. I was inbtw jobs for 4 months, yes, 4 friggin months... sux.. I wish I coulda done the race this yr as I could of won a Kona slot.. then again, I prob didnt start peakin this yr until April/May... forget it, I was totally out of shape in march...
This will be my chance that I am holding to myself to win thr 25-29 age group and secure that Kona Slot for 2011. If I can do this, I am lit, gonna chill and do locals all through June/July up until August till timberman. I am also planning to road trip finally to lake placid to sign up for the full in 2012...

Timberman 70.3
Why?
Beautiful lake course, love lakes and havent been to new h since I was 12? Hoping to sign up for this race by dec, a race I wanted to do last summer, but I was closed out before I could reg. A def must..

Poconos 70.3
I want to sign up for this race ASAP, however since my goal is to get to Kona more... I may wait to see what the ruling is come May for St. Croix if it isnt sold out by then...

Kona World Champ
1 might say that I havent done a full Ironman yet which is true, but I have done 4 half and have been racing a total of 6 yrs... and running for ten... Things come in progressions, just like personal training... Things take time and dedication and Kona is something that must be worked up to, just as I did for Clearwater, but now, in the half distance I have to go even faster. I have to go faster than the times that would qualify me for the half....
This goal of mine I see right in front of me, its in reach, and I just have to grab it when I can.

After Kona, its time to move out.

Triathlon Conclusion 2010 Yr 6

This has been quite a summer, I am going to mention my fav memories. I just wanted to say that this summer has been the most mixed and growing experience as a person and a triathlete. I have become a prize money winner, top 3 overall in almost all of the locals I have done and I really have come to terms to myself and who I am in. I recently developed a greater love for the outdoors, hiking, and camping. I love waterfalls and exploring the unknown. I loved the trips I took down the shore with not only racing, but training. I got to teach bootcamp for the first time at 5 in the mothafuckin morn, but hey, it got me up early to work out myself. I drove around Ca by myself for 10 hrs in 2 days in a Convertable. I went to Mexico by myself, but met great people along the way. Most of all, I have Qualified for a World Championship Triathlon Race and have completed my goal of the yr, to Qualify for Clearwater. Looking back, I can compare this journey to my performance in the Empire State Building run-up. I cant forget the many ways in which I had trained for that particular race; parking deck steps, statdium steps, hill repeats, tredmill incline, and on snow blizzard days, the stairs in my very own house. But hey all the grindin pays off when I ran up 86 flights of steps which stretched 2 miles high in just 16 mins...

With all the people that have inspired me, taught me that if you really want to accomplish something, no matter what that might be, no matter what hardships you may face, it will come true if you dont let go of that goal. I did just that, I never let go of that goal, ever. I learned to always have a backup plan, if RI didnt work out for me, which it didnt, I had Cancun planned. I knew going into RI that I would of had a tougher competition.

I never thought I would of been capable of going below a 540 in a Half Iroman. In cancun before the run I was pacing a 520-530 pace if I would of ran a 140-145 half... This shouldnt be an issue in Clearwater or the races to come bc there wont be this immense fire pit like heat...

So in 2011, at age 25 I am here to say that I will make my return to HAWAII, I will go to MAUI and that will happen nxt Oct 9 2011. I will qualify through st. criox..

If that doesnt work out, then I will just work on getting faster, race Timberman as planned in August, PR there, and race Poconos in Oct....

Maybe I will go to the new Half Ironman World Champ site in Vegas.... But no matter what, I will race my first full Ironman nxt yr, and I am shooting for that to be Cozmel. I didnt want to go back to Mexico ever again bc its such a pain, but its the most realisitc race that I can actually get into so we shall see what the future holds.

One Republic NYC July 2010 Concert Review

This was my 2nd time seeing this band. This concert wasnt promoted too well as they didnt have a new record out. They did release a new record last yr but they had a tour in europe which seemed like it lasted forever... I LOVE one republic, simely bc they have these songs that really are emotional to listen to and the lead singer, Ryan, has some talent and vocal range. Similar to AHA, the band seeks to amaze me with the amt of instruments and interactions with the crowds.

This was the week in the first pt of July where nyc faced over 100' temps. It was also the week where I saw Lady Gaga earlier that week. So I was rly concert out.

But yea, I had just as much fun as the first time I saw this band in 08, ah MC memories... Ryans voice wasnt at his best during the show, so they skipped my fav song "tyrant" which displays ryans pure vocal talent and the amt of pitches he can hit. I was very dissapointed so the entire show u can hear me yell "tyrant" in all my videos ahaha. That didnt seem to help...

Lady Gaga MSG July 2010 Concert Review

Oh Lady Gaga, this concert I got MAJORLY Gipped, sooo dissapointed that I was about to sell my ticket and leave. 1st off, tix went onsale for this show in dec 09. I rmr still being at Rbk and not having the money, yet wanting to buy a tix. I waited too long, as they were sold out on tixmas. I bought my tix for wayy to much to see this ugly gaga off stubhub, I thought up until the day I got there that GA meant GA...

I was wrong. On the hottest day of the summer was her opening nite at msg for the very 1st time. I waited 8+ hrs in 100'+ HEAT. Worst mistake of my life, I am NEVER ever doing that for anyone no matter who they are... I was sick inside only to find a barrier that separated the reg GA and he stupid 'monster' tix... for ga. I only assumed they got granted early admission not tix right on top of the stage, but then again, I am not surprised. What I was surprised about was that the reg GA were sep from that.... I was LIVID, i was about to do a 'madonna' only they had twice the amt of security at this gaga concert than a madonna concert...

I enjoyed it, but I could barely see anything and It just bothers me to think that I paid ten bux to see her in the front row in 08 and have her stage dive 10x on top of me, and now, I dont even want to tlk about it. Here are the pix, and I just wanted to say that I refuse to see her live ever again, only if I am granted a "monster package.."

Kylie Minogue @ Splash Concert Review

Ok wow, KYLIE friggin Minogue. I still cant believe this night, after seeing her live for the 1st time last fall in NYC after all these yrs obsessing on when she would tour the US, finally I saw her. This time she was prac in my face lol.. this event was very hush hush... I found out through the promoters I know that I am friends w. All the gay guys were bein bitchy to me +pg bc They thought that Kylie is "There" Queen. Um sorry but ur a dude, Kylie is OUR Queen. We got the best spot, front and center despite having left w what it felt like broken ribs... MY GOD, was it crazy, Kylie proceeded to pour water on herself at one point as well as every body else.

I decided to hand her my "business card" and she goes 'someone wants to give me a business card; and reads personal trainer, nice" haha sooo funny! Another priceless moment of the summer. :) I cant wait to see her in 2011, hopinh she brings "Hurts" to the US to open for her! <3

At first she was org. sup to announce her new video to "all the lovers" which is pretty lame. So everyone was shouting for her to sing, so she ended up playing this entire mash-up of all these new songs from her new record which ended up being Phenominal! This was Pre-Leak... I yearned to meet her after, but it was just maddness, Pg and I tried to beat the crowd out, but we just missed her.. pp were to insane that night for her to stop and take photos w fans. However I found out a yr later that Kylie met fans before the 3 Sold out nyc shows!

Robyn/Kelis/Dan Black Concert Review August 2010

This concert was nothing but INSANE. When I say INSANE more insane then Lady Gaga stage diving 10x on my head in 08' lol that still remains priceless as I had paid only 10 bux for that show. The reason this particular show was insane was because sooo many pp were packing in 1 room, sweaty, jumping up and down and moshed together that the entire floor beneath us almost collapesed.

It was also a record-breaker as my life long strain Ive had w my sister kind of mended bc I went to my first concert every with my sister. Kinda sad that I am 24 and she is 21 and we went to our first concert together, but, better late then never...

The more GA concerts I go to as much as I love standing in front row, the more anxious I get each time. The whole ordeal with security not letting u bring in water bottles, then you have to buy water and they either take the top off the bottles or they give the water to you in a friggin cup. I mean really?! its like 2 choices pass out with no water or get water and have it spill as soon as the show starts. I refuse 1 or 2 to happen to me and I am not concert smart, lol so my towel I sit on while waiting in line, I wrap a couple water bottles in the towel so security cant find them 99% of the time it works, however, they are pretty smart at Terminal 5 the most annoying venue in the city w security and annoyingly enough a venue where I have tix to most shows...

Hiding a water bottle in a jacket sleeve works well too haha

Anyways... Was xcited to hear Dan Black join forces with the spectacular duo of Kelis + Robyn as I was quite impressed with his performance in feb downtown at that bar or whatever ghetto venue he performed at. Damn hes come far in such a short amt of time. It goes to show how far talent can take you in a short amt of time. He def wowed me again, and my sister with his voice and ability to DJ at the same time and mix his music on stage. Kelis was nxt, she appeared to be suffering through a cold the entire show which showed. I perferred her electric performance in April which was insanity... But she was lookin good as ever and still stole the show to me.

Robyn comes on, maddness!! I havent seen her since 08' seems like forever now, oddly enough very close to the time when I saw One republic last. She was good as ever too. Only complaint the loudness of the sound drained her voice or rly the thumping of the bass. I heard her voice much better in 08'

Overall I was so hot I took off my shirt and danced and sang in my sports bra. Everyone left that concert like they took a shower.
Cant wait to see her again on nov 10 2010

Marina + Diamonds Concert Reviews NYC/Asbury Park Summer 2010

Oh Marina, this was my 3rd and 4th time this yr alone of seeing this fine young lady live. She is 24 yrs old born from Greek Decent and her beauty and talent seeks to amaze me everytime I see her perform live. She has this ora about her that intriques me to wanting to see her over and over again as every show seems to be different in its own unique way. For ex, when I 1st saw her in BK she was very nervous yet her hair and makeup done to the point of perfection... NYC the nxt night she carried a more laxed, rockish vibe to her. The 3rd show in NYC in the fall, was far more theatrical and interactional compared to the 1st to shows. She danced more, chatted more, and changed her clothes more. She also lost some weight and dressed far more skimpy. (After all she does have a nice bod so why not show it!?)

Some might argue that she "cant" sing, she has a totally diff style to her thats very deep and melodramatic that takes a few listens to say, hey she really can sing. All of her songs contain depth and are filled with meaning and passion. Her music is totally inspring and I cant and count how many times I have replayed her album while working out. The Asbury show was my fav, I am always a fan of small intimate gigs, ALA madonna "on stage on the record 2003" She totally rocked the fuck out of Shampaign, she jumped around on stage and even screamed she was having a blast!

I cant wait till she comes back nxt april, def Artist of the yr for me :D

Scissor Sisters Concert Review 8/24/10

I have to get caught up on my reviews, so since I am in the mood in no particular order, I will start with this one.

I have heard great things about the Scissor Sisters for quite some time now, but was always too lazy to hear their music. Apon their release of their "Night Work" album, I found it an interesting listen, so I downloaded the album in its entirety. Needless to say, I was absolutely blown away by every single song on the album, even with its first listen. The lead singer, Jake Sheers holds so much vocal talent and range, it is purely amazing.

There is something about there new album, it seems as if it could be found in a disco in the 70's yet has this futuristic "go-getter" vibe about it where every single track scream "GET UP + DO IT.... NOW!" The message that screamed that drew me more and more to there music as I am always looking for new tunes on my ipod to inspire me while I run.

I havent felt so anxious to get in front row since Kylie Minogue. It filled faster than any GA concert I have EVER been too!! Besides Kylie of course lol.. and Madonna at Roseland... So my 'going to the bathroom' trips only had to be once and once only.

I was lucky enough to meet Jake before the show, and what a sweet heart he is. His eyes are always lit up with a sort of passion and drive that reflects in his music so deeply. My fav tracks that stand out to me the most are definitly "Night Life, Invisible Light, Running Out, Fire w Fire, and Skin tight. From watching youtube videos of the group, it was clear to me that Jake Sheers takes the Limelight of being the most off the wall energetic, bursting with talent member of the group and I was ready to enjoy every second of it during the show.
Considering that the show was 2 days before my big California trip, I used it as major motivation for my race and the driving challenges I took while I was there. All I got to say is wow, I was amazed beyond words of how good the show was. Just waiting in line for this show was a one of a kind exp, the pp I met were rediculously funny and off the wall haha.
he photos sum up the rest, enjoy!
