Spin Cert Finally!

So Today I guess out of luck, I finally got into an all day spin cert. Of course I need to take the final test online to be "offical" but completeing this all day cert is a BIG accoplishment esp since its been on my goal list for months now!

Spinning is way more complicated than 1 may think. It doesn't just consist of the music, it consists of 5 different training levels + programs depending on who is taking the class on that given day. There is:
1. The Beginner Level
2. The Endurance Level
3. The Strength Level
4. The Interval Level
5. Race Day Level

The beginner level only consists of Flat Climbs only 60-70% max
The Endurance level consists of Flat + Hill Climbs but still staying on the seat + Simply adjusting the resistance to resemble a hill
The Strength Level consists of Flat, hill climbs, and runs which means actually getting off the seat and holding the postion spining upward
The interval level consists of jumps, up and down in the seat and ATB
The race day should only be down w advanced riders and only 1-2x a month, all out max intensity

These are key components to designs a spinning program, than added music :)

Offer, here we come! <3

Bike Road Racing

For the last few yrs, I have always wanted to do some bike road races. I decided that I am going to race in central park twice once in march, and once in April. Should help my speed for my tris. Def gonna be an intense, 4 lap race :O

:) THE NYC BICYCLE RACING SPRING SERIES 2010

Constant Change

I was going to race Thursday, and NEVER does cramps stop me from racing, but since I wasn't preregistered and track racing isn't my priority right now, PLUS its a bitch to get into the city and all the way uptown, I decided to scratch it. I had HORRIBLE cramps, and I nvr get cramps that bad. Luckily, I only had cramps that day, all day :/

But I did go on the train in the middle of the night last night for an hr getting in a solid fast paced spinning work out. I am about to to a tempo today followed by quick weights and a distance swim. Sux the gym closes at 7, but it is the wkd and people want to go home.

Im gonna have to get used to workin on Sunday morns too which sux bc thats a major training day for me, but I am off fri +sats and those are gonna have to be my hard days. Luckily, or else I woulda nvr taken the job they are allowing me to flip flop my sat/sun schedule for races, or Hiking :)

Registering for ALL the races in feb to avoid closeout and so I will get slammed w a big bill at once vs avoid charges every single month.

Signing up for santa barbara and waiting till I complete the 1st bk biathlon in march till I sign up for the last one in april to avoid another feb charge.
uh sacrifice, but I am xcited that kawami tri suits are helping me out, thats a start, and I kno as I qualify and work my way up the latter, people will start coming to me. finally

Money + Sacrifice

Hey all, so I just revised my racing schedule once again. I have multiple goals I want to reach this year, but because of money, I can only choose 1 of them. That one has been in the back of my mind and heart for some time now, and that is to qualify for Clearwater. I am worried about being closed out of Cancun, but I just can't afford to sign up just yet... but in the past 2 yrs I wanted to race, it never closed out.

So I took away 2 sprint races that didn't make sense in my schedule. May + June are def Duathlons + Sprints. July + Aug are strictly olympic. I must focus on that given distance within my training or I will screw myself up and end up injured.

Being that said, placing in the local sprints isn't doing me any good anymore with getting my name out there and becoming someone. No I am not trying to become pro and paid, I never would doubt myself because u nvr know how fast I might become, but just making it to those champ races are my goals.

My bill is gonna be so high this month, but I made the decision that I would rather get a high Feb bill then a high april bill right when I am supposed to leave for st. croix. That gives me time to pay it off, but at the same time, I am worried about the time it takes to pay it off AND the time it takes to save for St. croix.... I hope it all works out, other wise I may do Rhode Island instead in July....

Not exactly the place I went to spend money on to go, as I have been there before and it def doesnt wow me, but it is a qualifying race...

Now to sign up for Santa Barbara... FINAL charge of Feb... :/

Feb Update

1st off, I got closed out of a race too which Im pissed about. For the 2nd yr in a row, I was closed out of the 'Wyckoff tri' which is a ridiculously fun yet a competitively ext sprint race. They have the coolest prizes too with "Division champ" embroidered on a backpack and a gym back I now won 2 yrs ago.

I esp had the registration date in my calendar 4 months prior and was gonna mail the ap the day it opened. But since its sponsored by the ymca, they have never had an online entry system. SOooo, what I found out which is mad shady is that, people WALKED in their aps!! If I woulda known I was aloud to do that since I live 40 mins away from the race, I would of gotten in. Because of this fact, I am even more pissed off I didn't get in this yr more than last. Last yr it was kinda my fault because I waited a few weeks after registration opened having no idea at the same time , the race grew that much in popularity like damn... really?

Oh well, so I signed up for the Lavaman sprint again which is a nice flat course which I felt great and raced really well in last yr, despite the freezing cold pouring rain. This race falls on fathers day on sunday June 20th. I also decided to try the much talked about 'flat as a pancake' race in Staten island which should be interesting..

I am figuring, the way I designed my race schedule this yr was to kick off w the track races working on my speed/pace. Then do a 4 miler so I can really use what I gained from my track races into the distance race at the end of feb. Once I get into march/April thats all Biathlon/Half marathon training.

Then I do the St. Croix half in early may which has an extremely hilly bike course. That being said, I figured I would def work more in the month of June on Intensity/speed work through my races rather volume and hills. I think after that half I'm gonna need a break. As for July/Aug that's when I boost the volume/distance, but I don't get hilly again till Santa barb if that's hilly....

In other news, trying to save up what I have and pay some bills back that I owe. I hope to death I can put the money together and slip away to ca for Easter wkd for my 24th bday. We'll see, so far saw affordable 300 buck flights round trip to Santa ana which is ten mins from my cousins. Is that to much to ask?! Its not like Im asking for a ride from LAX and having them drive in traffic. Although the last time I flew into Lax, I saw some celebrities :-) hehe My last 2 trips to cal I have flown into San Diego but its far away from Irrrvine.

I have been takin advantage in neg and pos ways due to the fact that I haven't been working since late dec. :O yea I coulda had a lot of money saved up, but at the same time I'm not gonna work at some dry cleaners no offense, but I will not go beneath myself like some people tried to belittle me um no.

I have a feeling that Cancun, my 2nd big trip of the yr in Sept will be more fun than st. croix bc there is so much more to do there. To be honest, I prob wouldn't go to st. croix out of all the pls if I wasn't racing there, its still kinda Islandized I've read so im gonna really prepare myself for nothing fancy when I go, also to save money.

My summers prob gonna be like summer 2007 when I went to Hawaii in June then back to Cal in Aug.
If Im lucky and train+ race hard, I will be in clearwater in NOV. As far as qual for the 2011 ITU champ, only money and time will tell....
