Show-Time

Been training Seana + Megan over the last two months which has been my most successful project yet. It is a real eyeopener how I can really turn someones lifestyle around and make them happier when they see results and feel better.

It goes to show, when you give people time to come around, they eventually will; I will never forget that at the end of the day I am here to help people and to make a difference, not just through exercise but to live a better and healthier lifestyle.

Accomplishing all this for me, has really been an eyeopener on how much I am really capable on changing ones life. It comes full circle this Saturday when we all do the race together that I had trained them very hard for. For the 3rd unsuccessful attempt, I was gonna go to Niagara Falls, but I got invited to run the race with them so I def couldnt miss this moment when both of them cross the line feeling that sense of accomplishment that will never ever leave you in your 1st road race.

This is where ALL the hard work comes in, the long nights, the long weeks, and those long sundays... this is where its all going to pay off when you get the sense of satisfaction that it has to come from within.

I'm looking forward to gaining even more experience through coaching in the future and learning what works, and what doesnt and what is enjoyable to do and whats not. Its all just a test, just like life is, and theres a good reason why we are all connected in the funniest of ways.... :) till Saturday! #Hobooken 5k 2011

Life

Friendship
A friend is someone you meet and you know in that moment you are meant to be, some friendships take even longer, some come, some go, but its those that stay you should keep tight forever. Friends are little parts of yourself, friends are gifts that you should cherish and never take for granted, friends are there for you for a reason, friends are your partner in crime, friends listen to what you have to say and care, if you can rely on someone, trust someone, depend on someone, laugh and cry, travel near and far and understand them for who they are, they will always be your friend.

Love
Love for me most of my life has only been one sided, or it wasn't real and it took me being hurt many times to figure that out. Love is self discovery of who I was and who I am now. Love is friendship ignighted; Love is when two people that are meant to be together, make a world, love holds no boundries, love is endless, love is happiness, love is when you look into that persons eyes, and they are looking back into yours the same way.

Life
Life is something that is made and created, everyone has a path, but that path always has a fork that you have to choose from. You can take the high road or the load road, everything you do is a learning experience; everyday we are alive is a miracle, some days you feel high some days you feel low, but if you really live life, you can see how precious every single moment really is. If you take advantage of every weekend and create adventures for yourself, you become a more complex person, you develop battle scars and every thing you do is a story about yourself and your own journey in this life.

Career
Everyone has a telling of what they have been, what they have done, and where they are now. I for one, have chosen a pathway that has folded one onto the other as every single job I've has are like stars in the sky; they are all connected in some way. I want to obtain my DPT because it prob will be the most academically challenging this I will ever do in my life, and prove all the doubters wrong that I can have a doctorate and be Dana Miscia. That when I do qualify for Kona I can look back and say screw you all who said I wasnt good enough, look at me now bc I worked my ass off to get to this point. Everything I do is a process; every choice I make is for a reason bc I know I am slowly climbing up the latter to who I want to be, and where I want to go. If I am happy with a job within my relm of my career such as where I am now, I plan to stick to it until my life changes wherever I get into school.

Wellbeing
I knew the moment I stepped foot on the track, I was made to run. I never had any running background what so ever and in fact the moment I attempted to run 1-2 miles I felt like I was having a combo btw an ashma and a heartattack and nor do I suffer from neither!! I have been running compeitively since 2001 and when I look back on it all and what I've done to get me to this point, I get teary eyed. I have tons of track videos both from hs and college and I love to just relive the moments of being on a team and growing as an athlete. I fell in love with the feeling of being pushed to my extent, I loved the release and the rush of going FAST and I knew that the track was my place to let lose. This later lead to road races, and eventually triathlons. I am so happy that I got into this, when you rly get into running you can see how theaputic it can become and how your body releases endomorphins to give you more energy and kicking it into a 2nd gear that you never even knew existed. This is a pathyway in life that will keep building you as a person to become a better version of yourself.

UPDATE FALL 2011

I have come a long way since the last time I have updated this blog... on both a personal and professional stand point. I have learned that not everything comes easy, even friendships that are formed; it sometimes may take 2 yrs, but if its meant to happen, its meant to be... I look deep into a lot of things bc I am a sensitive person and I rly do believe that things happen for a reason and people meet for a reason. Everyone is on a path in life and the people you meet on your journey are there to guide you in the right direction and bring you happiness; I truly believe that.

Its so hard to go through life and like someone for so long, and you cant do anything about it. The only thing that can be done is if that person likes you back in return. I have not yet reached a moment where I have truly felt mutally loved... Relationships come and go, but I have yet to meet the person that fits and be in that moment when I am truly happy. Everything I do now is a void; triathlon is my savor, if I havent found this, I don't know where I would be. It distracts me for what I have been searching for my entire life and want so bad, I want love; real love.

I consider myself truly rare, not only as a friend, but as a person. As serious as I may sound with IM training, I am a multitude of things, and have a multitude of interests. I am not one of those with one interest, you can find me doing almost anything outdoors, yet kicking back and drinking while having a deep convo. I rly do appreciatte the little things in life that not many do, going back to my friends example with picking a pumpkin from the stem. All of this sounds so silly, yet so serious and thats how I am, I just wish people understand me more and give me a chance.

If I really like someone, I will give them my all, and wont have a care in the world bc nothing else matters. I have changed so many people in my life in the past, and currently in the present. It is amazing what I have the capacity to do, to change someones entire lifestyle and outlook, and have a yearning to help for over a yr. When I look back on all this yrs from now, I can smile and think that because I changed that persons life and they are happier, I became happier. The moment you stop looking is when the people you seek, come to you.

I never used to be a writer and I became one, I enjoy voiceing my opinion and writing out my thoughts. I have been training for an Ironman since June and HARDcore training since August...I have my HEART set on going to Kona nxt yr and qualifying for the Ironman World Championship. I RLY hope I do!! I also hope that I can get friends to come w me to my travels nxt yr, as for real this will be my last yr on the East coast for 2012 and when I start Grad school in fall 2013 its going to take over my life. So take advantage of coming w me now--- SAN JUAN, NH 2X, CALIFORNIA, BRAZIL, HAWAII??

5 weeks left to train, 5 weeks! 2 more open water swims, 3 more 3+ hr runs, and 4 more 100+ rides to go! Cant wait to run the halloween 5k w S+M + celebrate what I have been trying to accomplish for the longest time and see that anything is possible.

May 2011

After having done more racing trips in 1 month then I've ever done in my life, I am here to say that its sure been a journey! Both Oceanside and St. Croix time wise were TOTAL flops and the amt of training I put into the SBR didnt show AT all... I dont think I did enough hills on the the bike and I also didnt do enough BRICK runs with biking/running back to back which kills, but its what I am going to have to include more in my training so my legs get used to it more...

The "Beast" Climb/Hill/ or really mountain of what is much talked about is actually 100x worse then I would have ever imagined.... It was so steep I literally felt like my hands were going to slip any moment and I would go tumbling to the ground! It didnt help that right before the almost 30% grade came a pouring rain storm...

As hard as St Croix was, they were ab right for the fact that it surely is a hidden gem race, a must-do in ones triathlon resume, and it surely is goregeous. There were def many parts on the bike course that left me in awe with the hairpin turns/cliffs. The water was this aqua blue, kinda like erykas eyes and like the bahamas. My hotel was sweet, The hibisucs, even 3 miles for ttt, there was nothing lik being on the beach vs the harbor with nothing...

I had the most stressful ordeal ever with getting there bc the cape air company which was gonna fly me from st thomas to st croix werent accepting bikes.... which is crazy so to make a long story short, after hrs of wasting my time that I coulda been on the beach exploring st croix, they let me transfer both ways over to the seaborne airlines... but what a friggin hassle!! for now on I am making SURE and having PROOF that I can fly/take my bike onto a small plane....

St Croix was a race that I had intents to do in 2010, but bc I just started with 'Plusone' then, I didnt and couldnt take off, mostly for finanical reasons, so the nice race director let me push the entry to this yr. I actually dont think I would have been strong enough to attempt it if having done it last yr, it was DEF brutal... and I also ran out of water just in time so I def need back cages and my aero bottle for Cozumel....

I had NO intent of doing my first FULL Ironman this yr, as I rly did have my heart set on the HAWAII ironman... however, w my luck with qualifying thro another mexican race for clearwater (cancun) I have GREAT vibes that as hard as its gonna be, I can do it thro Coz. I feel like I have my mom or steph convinced to come, hopefully, so, bc I rly would like to hug someone whos there to support me after completing an ironman....

Junes focus is the upcoming franklin lakes in now just 3 weeks!! and then the Lake George get-away in just a month.... July I am not racing at all... even tho that super sprint looks narly, I dont have the cash to keep signin up... its a beggingers race anyways....

Plus in July, I am tryin to make/take a wkd getaway to visit and meetup w Jasymn in San Diego and run that 5k race with Brooke which I would love since shes fast as hell!!

I am waiting till my upcoming paycheck on fri so I can at least get my debt down to 1500 apx.... before I run it back up to 3g.....

Have sev pt interviews lined up but seriously not posting anything over fb bc its somehow bad luck w the last 4 interviews till I actually start/get paid....

That should help me w not only catching up on bills, but also, future experience...

Junes gonna be such an xciting month, I lit have plans every wkd... Julys gonna be blah, I was gonna help promote sandblast again for extra cash, but it was RLY hard to just stand there for 4 hrs, rly hard! Plus, I am not gonna be there bc I will most likely be spending that wkd in San Diego....

Upcoming I am enjoying memorial day wkd to the fulliest even though I havent been outside all day... fml took a yr to clean my room, find stuff, and get organzied btw pittsburgh AND Lake Placid lol.... bc of the fact that after LP I LIT had to go right to work on Monday so I just have been non-stop ever since. I still think its funny that I stopped at erykas house, wonder if she ever got my note... which shes prob reading..hhaa

Nxt wkd, June 4/5 I am training upstate w Jaime then going to the beach and may go to NJ pride, have to see... I think last yr I got rly sick or something so I didnt go...

The following wkd, June 11, is the much awaited "Warrior Dash" and I dont even kno whos still doing it, as bad as I wanted to race w Rick and See Seana bust her ass, I dont even kno if I will actually see anyone now... tear ;( but fuck it I will go out hard and win the damn thing, just dont want to do anything stupid and hurt myself bc at these obstacles races its likely....

Following wkd is FINALLY the long awaitied franklin lakes tri that I am finally in this yr!! Races elite and hoping to take 2nd nxt to Lynn, so its surely gonna be 1 interesting race... Then I go right down the shore and see Marina, its gonna be a great great wkd. Then Followin wkd just gets better; Florence on Fri then drive up to Lake G w Joana and Race the nxt morn on prob NO sleep, then back to city to see OFFER after over a yr and a half of MIA. But as I have always said, it got to a point where when u see Offer to much, he loses his special quality so its def brought it back by having this gap...

April 2011

April 2011 is finally here, and it is surely a month of pure craziness for me in every perspective. I just passed my 25th bday, and it is weird to think that now I am 25. I need to get the F out of my house!!

Talking about racing 1st:

After I trained my ASS off lit in the SBR I Oceanside didnt go as I planned at all...
I did not think NOR was I even close to ready dealing with the hills :cough: mountains that San Diego had... It was rediculous, most likely the hardest hills EVER. Half of the people I was with started walking there bikes up! It was INSANE. I was pacing for a 250/3 flat up until mile 40, I was screwed, the combination btw the wind and hills took SO much time off my pace its not even funny, plus I had a sucky swim, bottom line, I CAN NOT SWIM W A WETSUIT!!

Proof, I PRed in Cancun w 37 FINALLY breakin 40 mins (I kno I am a slow swimmer) without my wetsuit.... grrrr! What I am lookin fwd to is the warm st criox weather which will be a non wetsuit swim, a muscle pliable bike, and a HARD run such as feeling dizzy/overheated but I will still try my best to toughen it out!

I experienced the weirdest thing in OCeanside in regards to the run; I think mentally I felt lik crap since BOTH my swim and ride was WAY WAY off, I felt another Clearwater coming on :/ xcept this time, I could ACTUALLY move my legs on the bike unlike clearwater, I just couldnt attack the climbs for shittt!

So I felt both the heaviness right away and the mental anguwish of WTF did I just train for all these weeks through the blood and tears and I am performing like crap?! So the 1st half of the half marathon was crazy slow and for a while I was questioning if I was gonna finish, I felt nasiated and help jumpin in every portijohn that I saw... which ultimately prob added a good 10 mins onto my total time... then suddently, it was as if an angel landed on my shoulders the 2nd lap, it told me to GO! just go, and suddenly my legs felt like they were ripped off and given this fresh pair... I went from a 9 something pace to a sub 8 for the last 6 miles, trying by that point (I kno super slow and WAYYY beneath the level I should be at with my training and 7 yrs in sport) a 6 flat... But ended up just missing six flat and finished in a time of 604...

But Hey, I came in 18/50 in the 1st time I raced a half in the 25-29 ag AND most of all, the strongest EVER I have felt in the last Half of a half marathon, I was FLYIN, and I truly believe I was experiencing the "flow" or "runners high" at that point in time... Every step seemed effortless and my breathing was in a pattern... and I just kept pushing.. I was running SO fast that in the last 200 meter stretch I was sprinting so hard, that I friggin twisted my ankle bad, but thanks to my hyperflex joints I recovered and just missed 17th pl when this girl in the same AG clipped me at the finish. When I finished I was so overwhelmed from pushing myself THAT hard the final 6 miles, I passed out.. and had to be brought to the Medtent. But I was given gatoraded and was fine, I totally collapsed, I even have to check if I still have the 'finishers medal' bc I havent seen it all week :o

SO that bas sums up OS, I am SOOO glad I have waited all these yrs to conquer that course bc it is a friggin BITCH to do esp the bike. If the bike was flat this course would be FAST... and it sux bc I am a speedy cyclist in short couses, but a horrible climber mostly bc I just avoid hill training....

I am looking fwd to the BX biathlon nxt wkd which I raced in last yr in the pouring rain, prob the coldest to date I have felt in a biathlon race, I remember being in transition not able to undo my helmet or tie my shoes lol... and missing 2nd pl f OA bc of that reason!

WEll, not this yr, my goal is to Break the tape bitchesssss! We shall see, if Lynn races, I am gonna take 2nd pl, if she doesnt thats what Im set at, unlike central park both the ride/run is super flat/fast so I am super pumped to attack this race! Which will def give me a shit load of confiedence for st criox 2 weeks later...

Tmr I am going on my 1st "upstate" ride since last yr, mostly bc I need to conquer the hills and find my way into harriman for once lol... Im gonna write down the exact sts I need to look for.... I just know if I stay on 17 which is like a hway I am either due ot get hit or get a tire due to glass on the road... So I will stick w my norm route....

I may only do this ride once, as nxt sat im off ex wise other than a light swim/run bc of the bx biathlon being the nxt day.... and the followin wkd if the weather hits 70' and no rain, tryin to convince steph to take a road trip w me... if that doesnt pan out which I hope it will, I will prob ride on 9W or repeat the ride 1 more time.. but I rly think Im gonna take a shot of riding on 9w :D :D Easter Sat or Sunday... as I come back from socal on sat morn easter sat so im not sure how up to feeling on a long ride im gonna be....

I rly want to go to niagara falls w steph as its very beautiful there and we both havent been there, or maybe lake george or some place that we both havent been to... I just hope if it doesnt work out, Im not too tired for a long drive after coming off yet another red eye flight....

I am rly xcited to see Brooke, I wonder if I didnt write "the letter" if I woulda gotten to see her on that Sunday or not... it makes me sad that it is THAT difficult to see her thanks to Denise, but hopefully the letter that I just wrote 3-4 months later will clear things up btw us....again.....

I dont care how many pp thing its that stupid to come back out to california again, but I am doin it for Brooke, the only person that has looked up to me so closely and that I have had the funniest moments with and the most fun with as if she was my little sister. I know for a fact that if it wasnt for me, she wouldnt of ran track, and she wouldnt of discovered her talent. I have fig out a way that even though I am still in debt, I only charged the amt in which I am going to be paid... and it worked out good as the paycheck i just got is for another 2 wks when I go away again, and when I get paid on the 22nd, that is for st criox lol....

I might go to pittsburgh to see the "luminarim" right after the Adele concert in Phili on Fri May 13th yea out of all the dates right and drive in the middle of the night then crash at a cheap hotel... but idk yet...

May is DEF concert month, I am seeing Kylie, Bruno, Adele, and maybe Chicago... I am not going ANYWHERE MD wkd, but instead want to go to Yosmite on a camping/backpacking trip 4th of July wkd.... hmmm

I gotta follow up w ECC as I rly do still want to go back to school this fall and dont want to miss any deadlines in the process of applying/signing up for the stupid addmissions test... I cant wait to be a physical theapist assistant, then when I complete the program by 2013 I can move out to California and live happily ever after, and hopefully with the person of my dreams who feels the same way about me <3
Speaking of which, whats on my mind now, are girls who say they are straight like my past friend sammie who suddenly fell in love with another girl, love holds no boundries.....
